About me

My name is Yannick Krifka and I did my PhD at ETH Zürich under the supervision of Prof. Alessandra Iozzi. Since October 2021 I am a postdoctoral researcher at the Max Planck Institute in Bonn working with Prof. Ursula Hamenstädt.

My research interest is in the interesection of Teichmüller Theory, Dynamics and Geometry. I am interested in how one can use invariant random subgroups (IRSs) and Benjamini—Schramm convergence to compactify moduli spaces of geometric structures. Recently, I developed an interest in random hyperbolic three manifolds and their volume.

Classical examples for dynamical systems are billiards, i.e. a ball bouncing off the sides of some obstacles. Such a billiard can be observed in the background of this homepage.
